Reflection for the QCC Trip - 12/17/2014

   On Wednesday,  December 18,  2014 my class the Web Client Program and the Digital Design (Juniors) went to a trip with our teacher Mrs.Ramirez to one of the best colleges in Queens. Queensborough Community College (QCC) was the place that we went and it was a beautiful college with a lot of careers and sports. We all had to be early to school and get on the bus at 8:20 am so we can leave early & get there early. We were 41 students in total seniors and juniors so we were separated in two groups. We were introduced to two stuff in QCC named Mrs.Montgomery and Mrs.O'Rouke that gave us bagels and drinks like some water & orange juice.

Then, all the seniors we went to take our CUNY ID photo in the basement that Mrs.Montgomery and Mrs.O'Rouke took us. We all went one by one and after there we all went outside and walk around plus we went to the Technology building. In the Technology building we went to a classroom full of computers and Mrs.Ramires's old teacher Professor Asser. And he was talking more about the careers that in the Technology (Computer Engineering) building has as well, we all sat in the classrooms. Above, there is a picture of the whole senior class with our CUNY ID photo that we took. As well, they said that we can go and visit classes with our ID. In the other hand, we all had fun time together and it was very interesting for me.

Once, when we were done in the computer class we went to the 3D Printer class. In there we got introduced to Professor Lawrence and he introduced to this new printer that could print real objects. We sat in this classroom there were computers and also he gave a little introduction to 3D Printer but talking about it and showing videos. As well, in his desk there were a lot of objects that a 3D Printer print out of and this objects were real & they had real colors. In the other hand, we went to another classroom (lab) and we got introduced to other few machines that can print out real objects. Plus, there was a video that we saw that in 2015 there will be airplanes made of 3D printers.

Finally, we got to met Edgar De Castro once again because he came to out College Fair in our school. But, he introduced us to more places in the QCC and we went inside & outside of the Theater building. And, we went all around the college and in the end we saw the Holocaust Center plus, we all took a picture of the whole Web Client Program & Digital Design class as a big group.

Marco Flores - Lab 16 - Web Client Program 2014

In my lab 16, I had to create a website that has animation JQuery skills. This skill was so impressed it was to make three buttons one for increase font, another was to decrease font and the last one was to put the table in the center. So, I had to write someone or something that inspires me to become someone better. I also used my CSS style and JQuery skills to make this wonderful lab of my creavition. I used my same method that I use every lab with the same background and same text of headings.  As well, I had to create a box and write inside text, alsoI had to add a picture inside the box. Plus, I also had to create my buttons with CSS style and everything I got it to work it was a little hard but I complete it. As well, this skill can help me in the future

Marco Flores - Lab 15 - Web Client Program 2014

  In lab 15, I had to make a lab describing what is a subject or object and as well create a contact me. So, I choose to write about my favorite subject Web Design and I described what it is & where I was up to this moment. I describe on what I did in my first year, second year and my last year on Web Design. I wrote it step by step on every programs I learn and I used in that year. As well, I put my wallpaper that I created it with Adobe Photoshop CS6 and my font, color text, & CSS style are the same because I wanted it to be same as my other labs. I apply JQuery on my lab because my whole lab is mostly JQuery the style and the link that is attach. Plus,this lab was a little difficult for me but I worked hard to make it work and it worked well. This skill can help me in the future by having more skills on JQuery and also in the future I will know how to make a contact information in a website.

Marco Flores - Lab 14 - Web Client Program 2014

In lab 14, I had to make a webpage with a new skill that I learned in class with JQuery. I had to write 2 - 3 paragraphs about my favorite class or subject in my school. So, I decided to write about my class Web Design known as Web Client Program, last year it was called Digital Design, and 2 years ago it was called Visual Design. I wrote 3 paragraphs about Web Design and also I had to make 2 boxes with text on it, it had to show text inside for example the first words of the sentence or any other type of words. Also, I put my background that I created it with my skills in Adobe Photoshop CS6 and I also apply CSS style on my lab 14. This new skill can help me in the future by creating paragraphs and I would know how to create boxes to put some words inside. As well, am improving in my webpages on my web design skills.

Marco Flores - Lab 12 - Web Client Program 2014

 In my lab 12, I had to make questions and answers of anything topic I want but I had to program them in a JQuery style. I had to put boxes once your mouse touches it it will open by going up and there will be the answer of the question. But the question had to by on top and they had to be at least 5 different questions. And this lab was a new skill of JQuery and also I put  CSS style for the font of my heading. As well, I created my own background the three colors mix of blue, black, and white I did it in Adobe PhotoShop CS6. Plus, I added two buttons to go back to my Index or go back to the WCP webpage. I really had fun on doing this lab 12 and learning more about JQuery as well this can help me in the future by programming boxes that open once your mouse goes over it. Finally, I think this new skill is really awesome I liked this lab and I might apply it to my new project.

Marco Flores - Lab 11 - Web Client Program 2014

    In lab 11 in my class Web Client Program I had to create a lab with two buttons that show day and night. If you click on he day button with show a day time picture and if you click on the night it will show a night time picture. So I used Adobe Photoshop CS6 to create two pictures of a city when it's in the day time and night time. I used my own creativity to make two cities and once I was done I put them in my HMTL webpage for my lab 11. Also, I used HMTL and CSS style to create my webpage as well I used two different CSS styles to make my day and night buttons. Plus, this week we started learning JQuery and how JQuery is a high level of HTML,CSS style, Java and more all together to make it a little more easy to make a website or webpage. So, I also had to attach JQuery in my lab 11 so it can work and I had to attach it as a link. This lab can help me in the future by learning more of JQuery and how it works. As well, I can learn new skills with JQuery and how I can make much better labs or projects better.

Project 1 - Sarcastic Website (Smoking) - Marco Flores WCP 2014

  In project 1 for my class Web Client Program I had to make a sarcastic website and my topic was smoking. I decide to choose this website because I though this was going to be a good topic to make it looked sarcastic. So, I decide to choose a nice background of lungs that burn but I wanted put some crazy context on it I didn't had time to do it. Also, I did a good banner for it with Adobe Photoshop CS6 and I make it cool in my opinion with dark colors. I only use HTML elements and CSS style to make my website, I didn't had time to use JavaScript. I had two buttons that change color when the mouse arrow is on top from purple to light purple. As well, a little sarcastic paragraph and a rollover with 4 sarcastic pictures that describe smoking is cool.

 In my second website for my project 1 I decide to have the same background,marquee text, and banner so it repeat. And as well it has my two CSS style of buttons for my home and 2nd webpage to click and it works. Also, I put only 2 reasons why smoking is good I would like to add more but I didn't had that much time. So I put two pictures of why smoking is good and two gifs of two people smoking. As well, I forgot to put the webpage of where I got the images from, because they weren't mine but I had to give them credit (copyrights). This project will help me in the future by knowing how to keep learning to create more website and match text color. Also, if I had to put the copyrights of the images I use because most of them aren't mine or I didn't create them.

Marco Flores - Lab 10 - Web Client Program 2014

 
In my class Web Client Program 2014 I had to do a lab 10 with 10 different forms of log in on a web page and receiver stating " I got your message. " In those 10 forms there were HTML elements for the webpage and JavaScript to create the 10 different forms. But first I had to make a webpage stating " I got your message " once someone log's in on a form. To create the webpage I used HTML elements and named it receiver.html so once someone log's in it will go to the webpage of the receiver site with the message. Also my teacher Mrs.Ramirez gave us the 10 different forms in 3 papers and we had to change the names of the functions first and then create it on the HTML webpage. It took me 3 - 4 days to complete the lab 10 and I also put some CSS style on the webpage so it can look like I worked hard on the lab. I also put a wallpaper of color green,text in white, with CSS style of green and table white so it can match every color in a patter. This lab can help me in the future by creating different types of forms into a log in box. I have learn how to program it and how if someone log's in it will got to other different webpage as long they have the right log in username and password.

Career Day Reflection Journal - Oct.17 2014

  On Oct. 17 2014, there was a career day in our school for only the juniors and seniors in the CTE programs. The three academies were there the students of Apple, Video Production and Web Design along with their teachers. I think this was a very nice experience for the students and me because there were a lot of people who represent their college. They came to talk about what is their college about and their mayor careers. I really got very interesting in the college of QCC ( Queensborough Community College) because they had a lot of career's that a student can learn about. And also there were other college's that came from the other boroughs of New York City. And as well there were students of the Marines talking about how to join and what you do in the Marines. I saw a lot of students going to college's that had technology the most as their career. That day it was so packed of students that there were small spaces to walk around. As well, I have some open houses of college's that I saw in the career day it was a very nice experience. This was the beginning of my college that I want to go and have the career that I will study in the future.

Project #1 - SiteMap - Web Client Project

 For project #1 in Web Client Program, I had to make a sarcastic website for a topic that is base on something bad but making sound good. My topic is about smoking, so I will be explaining why is smoking bad in a sarcastic way. I will have pictures showing pictures why is bad, what causes can happen to someone, and how they can help get help. Also, I will be applying JavaScript and CSS skills on my HTML website. Also, I will have 2 – 3 pages about my topic that am doing. One will be my introduction, what are the causes and how someone can get help in a different page. Am going to apply a lot of pictures with their copyrights in my project. Also, I will make more elements that I might use on the programs of Adobe so I can make awesome website. I also put another site-map of where my work if going to be located in my files and what folders are they going be on. Plus, I had two - three pages of HTML webpages apply with JS and CSS.png pictures.

MP1 - Self-Evaluation

Blog: Are you on target with your grades ? Is there anything you need to improve for this marking period ?

  In this marking period 1 I got a grade of 93 as it is shown in JupiterGrades and I think it was fair for the grade I got. I did all my homework and classwork even though there were 2 or 3 late I still did it and also I was only one time late to class. I also pay attention and complete the labs that I had to do on time and I try so hard to finish everything. Plus, right now I do think a target with my grades with the work am doing and with always finishing the tasks that I get on class. And also in my homework I might miss 1 or 2 but I know I always do it. As well, I need to improve in some tasks in this marking period 2 that is to put my work on time and homework as well. That's the only task that I need to do and also I also have to look my JupiteGrades often because there were homework blogs or other homework that I forget to do. But I know I can improve in this marking period to get a higher grade and I can learn more and more in my class. Finally, there always can be something to improve every marking period in my class Web Design.

Post #2 - Why attention to detail and following procedure are important elements of Web Design?
  In order to having good skills on Web Design there is two elements that you have to remember and do it. Those two elements are having attention to detail and following procedure to be a good web designer. Having attention to detail is having instructions in what you are going to do rather it's a lab or project in class. Paying attention on detail and following procedure are elements that will help you do the lab, project, or website that your going to do. It will give you the steps of how to created it and it will make you think on other ideas that might come up but those ideas you can apply. It's important to follow the procedure because with the procedure you can finish faster or you can do the work that you are working very well. Plus, this two elements are very great for making someone a great web designer with good skills. As well, I know if you follow and do this two elements it will help you in the future in your work.

Post #1 -How do we take notes ?

   Notes are record of facts, topics, or thoughts written down on a paper,posters, or notebook as an aid to memory. It's also a short informal letter or written message that can be written and then you can go back to see what you wrote and remember what you need. As a student we are required to take notes in our classes to have skills on taking notes and so we can go back on them so we can remember what we have learned today. And in general I think by taking notes on class someone will learn even if they read their note 2 times a day. But, also the notes will make someone smarter and if they have a quiz/test they will know the answer by reviewing the notes they took in class. As well, the notes can help anyone do their homework much faster by reviewing their notes.
  In today's class we got introduce to a new way of taking notes in class and it is the Cornell Note-taking method. This Cornell Note-taking method is having a page in the notebook separate in three parts and those parts has Cues, Notes, and Summary. In Cues there is questions, diagrams, or vocabulary and Notes there are the notes you take. Plus, in the part of the summary their is main ideas for quick reference on what you have learn. As well, I think this can help most students on class on taking notes and learning more on the subjects they are studying. Finally, I think this is a great method for taking notes and how to learn much faster.

1.What is the difference between website and a web page?
  The difference between a website and a web page is that in a website there is a collection of one or more web pages designed to have information on a particular subject or theme to a web user. And a website can have a lot of page with different layouts as well and it can be design for any company, sales, news and etc. And a website can work in any type of browser that it's opening on and it will work as well in each browser. Also a web page is a one screen full of information of a site or topic you are looking for that may contain links to other web pages. But this links can also have external information and a web page will normally be created as an HTML document.
2. What is a story board and a Site-map ?
  A site-map in web design is a mapping picture or pictures of how a website or web page is going to work. It shows the navigation of where is the web site or web page is going to be on and it will show how to get there. And also a site-map is also a important communication tool  to use when you are talking with your client on the development of a web site or web page. Also, a story board in web design is planning for your final project rather its a web site or web page that will draw a series of storyboards that bring together many of the decisions you've been making on like page layout, content, types of media, and navigation design.
3. Why do you need site maps and story boards?
   Someone needs site maps and story boards on a web page or website because they are really helpful on creating on a website, A site map will make you put the information you want on the site everything that is needed. And also in pictures you can change or fix the pattern that you are going to do so the site can work. As well, you need a story board because that's the finally draft like you will know where to put the information or pictures that you will put in the site. You can draw it and once you do it you will put all the layout that you had on the web site.

Marco Flores - Lab 9 - Web Client Program 2014

  Here's a screen shot of my lab #9 and how I created it different from the other ones. In this lab #9, I had to make a table with any 6 pictures of anything I want and make them like a roll over. When you take your mouse over a picture it will show in the table on top. The lab was base on JavaScript and I did the 6 top soccer famous players in the whole world. And I also put a soccer field as the background because I wanted it to go with lab. Plus, I also had to make an roll over but in Adobe Fireworks and I had to attach it in my lab#9. As well, I also used CSS style on my website so it can look different in my HTML website. It wasn't easy but I did it I also got help of my classmates and I liked it a lot this lab. This can help me in the future in many reasons in how to make a table in JavaScript and make like a roll over and how to apply in CSS style and other type of work on a HTML website.

Marco Flores - Lab 8 - Web Client Program 2014

  Here's a screen shot of my lab #8 that I created with new skills in JavaScript and CSS style. In this lab I started with a gray background and white font that I created on a CSS file to apply in the HTML website. I did this because I want my labs to be the same and the point of this lab was to create a table and find the prime numbers. Finding the prime numbers had a JavaScript code that I had to apply,learn and know what it means. So, I decide to make a table with black ground inside and make the numbers color yellow so it can me shown. With the CSS I create the font of my lab and it was apply in my heading as well. This can help me in the future by knowing how I can make a table and put information inside. And also how to work more with CSS style and learning in JavaScript in HTML websites.

Marco Flores - Lab 7 - Web Client Program 2014

  Here's a screen shot of my lab #7 and how I applied new skill that I have learn in JavaScript. I start with a gray background and white font because I want my labs to be consisted. But, in this lab I also had to apply CSS style so it can look different with a JavaScript webpage. I used white font because I want it to see on top of the gray background. Also, in this lab I had to apply the time and date in JavaScript which was a little hard because I had to make a JavaScript file to attach it. This JavaScript file would put the date, time, and year as well. This can help me in the future because I now know how to apply the time and date on a HTML with JavaScript webpage. Marco Flores - Lab 5 - Web Client Program 2014

  Here's a screen shot of my lab #5 and how I learn new skills in JavaScript to apply in my webpages. And so in this lab I had to make a chart with 9 buttons that describe the " if then statement, if than and else statement, and the switch statement. " This lab was about to to make 3 buttons that example where the definitions of the statement. Then, I had to put examples and picture on the other 6 buttons of the table that I created to show the statements. But, I didn't finish it on time it was a little difficult as well but I tried my best. But, I learn how to make more buttons on a table and as well I had JavaScript coding in other file that I would attach on the lab. This can help me in the future because am learning more and more skills in JavaScript. Here are my codes that I use to make this lab, but if I had a little more time I would of make it much better and finish the lab on time.

Marco Flores - Lab 4 - Web Client Program 2014

  Here's a screen shot of my lab #4 and in this lab it was a little difficult but I had fun on doing this lab. And so in this lab I had to create a JavaScript sentence but there are sentences that someone will enter in their information. Also, then it will pop-out a box with the full sentence with the information that you put. I only did 6 boxes that states the person's name, last name, birth place, year of birth, current year and favorite team. Plus, I added a submit button where the full sentence will come out once you are done. In the other hand, I also had to make a JavaScript file and then attach it to my website so it can work. Finally, I once again had a gray background and black font on my lab so it can match with the other labs. This can help me in the future by knowing how to make boxes and how it will end in the end as in a send or other type of information.

Marco Flores - Lab 3 - Web Client Program 2014

  Here's a screen shot of my lab #3 that I created with JavaScript and new skills on how to create a Alert Box. So, in this lab #3 I use 3 alert boxes in JavaScript, but I had to write three level three questions about JavaScript and then answer them on a alert box. I did three questions and I put the answer once you click on the question. It was a little difficult because it was to much coding, but I work hard on this lab and I made it work in the end. Also, this new skill can help me in the future because I know now how to make a alert box and buttons in JavaScript. In the other hand, here's a screen shot of my code:

Marco Flores - Lab 2 - Web Client Program 2014

  Here's a screen shot of my lab #2 that I create in my class which was still working with JavaScript in a HTML website. In this lab I put a gray background because I want my webpages to be consistent and with black font on it. So, in this lab I had to create some sentences in JavaScript saying "Hello World!" and my name it is. Plus, as you can see in the page source (down) you can see that I use Script text to do my lab. This lab can help me in the future by knowing how to make sentences or paragraphs in JavaScript in a HTML website. As well, as I keep doing more and more labs I will be learning more and more about JavaScript.

Marco Flores - Lab 1 - Web Client Program 2014

  Here's a screen shot of my very first lab in my class Web Client Program that was to create a JavaScript webpage. So , first I put a gray background with some dark text font of the title, my name, and program with the date on, So under, it says " JavaScript can change the content of an HTML element;" which states what is JavaScript. As well, I have learn how to create an button which says: Click Me! and if you click it it will change the letters that are down. The letters that say "This is a demonstration" will change to "Hello JavaScript" if you click the "Click Me!" button. And I have learn some base skill but I know it can help me later on in the future with a website applying JavaScript on it. Plus, here is a screen shot of my code:

Marco Flores - Introduction - Web Client Program 2014

  This year 2014 - 2015, I have made another webpage for this senior year class called Web Client Program. And this year we are going to be working a lot in JavaScript, use PHP, and we are going to learn how to install & configure web & application servers. And here I have a screen shot of my webpage above and I added two buttons where it says Labs and Project where you press them it will take you to a different page. And there I have all my labs in the Lab site and Projects once I do my projects and I will upload them on my site.
